Uros Plavsic has written a farewell to Tennessee fans as the big man from Serbia is moving on to the NBA Draft.

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened,” he wrote on social media. “As this chapter of my life closes, I am ready to begin the next. Playing professional basketball has always been one of the biggest dreams for me. I have decided to go after that goal and follow my dreams.”

The 7-foot senior appeared in 34 of Tennessee’s 36 games and made 20 starts, including all 3 of the Vols’ NCAA Tournament games. Plavsic posted the team’s best field-goal percentage, as he shot 64%. Plavsic averaged 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds in 13.4 minutes a game.

He scored in double figures 7 times on the year, including a season-high 19 points in a 63-56 loss to Kentucky on Jan. 14.

Plavsic may be remembered for the NCAA Tournament second-round game against Duke when he set the tone early with his physical play, and finished with 3 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist in Tennessee’s 65-52 win.

In 4 seasons with the Tennessee program, Plavsic had made 101 appearances and 45 starts. He started 21 times during the 2021-22 season and averaged 4.2 points and 4.0 rebounds.
