Velus Jones, former Tennessee WR, set to make NFL debut Sunday
Velus Jones is set to make his NFL regular season debut Sunday after a lingering hamstring injury kept him sidelined for the first 3 weeks.
The former Tennessee receiver could be a major part of the Chicago Bears’ offense against the Giants, too. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news Saturday night.
Bears’ rookie third-round pick Velus Jones, who missed Chicago’s first three games and is listed as questionable for Sunday due to a hamstring injury, is expected to make his NFL debut vs. the Giants, per source.

Chicago’s passing game has been effectively nonexistent this season. The Bears have struggled to use Justin Fields to his potential, and subpar receivers aren’t making that any easier. Chicago is already missing the services of N’Keal Harry and now Byron Pringle to various injuries. Not having Jones left the receiver corps thin to say the least.
As for what Jones’ role will be Sunday, it’s anyone’s guess. Let’s see if he can kickstart a hapless Chicago offense.
