Video: Bristol Motor Speedway begins to convert over for the Battle at Bristol
In under 20 days time, Bristol Motor Speedway is set to host the most attended football game in the history of college football as over 150,000 fans are set to descend on Bristol for the Sept. 10 Tennessee vs. Virginia Tech Battle at Bristol.
Now that we know the jersey combinations of both Tennessee and Virginia Tech heading into the game, the next step is to convert the actual track to a playing surface that a football game can actually be held on. In order to accomplish that, over 10,600 tons of rock and sand will be laid from over 450 trucks. The rocks and sand are being put into place to become the base of the football field.
