Sewell is taking advantage of the NCAA’s Covid-19 eligibility rules and returning for a 5th years after being a solid 4-year reliever for Tennessee. Sewell went undrafted in the 2022 MLB Draft but considered signing an undrafted free agent contract.
Sewell threw 50 innings in 2022, totaling 42 strikeouts, 40 hits and 17 runs. He finished the year with a 2.52 ERA. The Vols return 3 of their 4 weekend starters from last season, including Chase Dollander, Chase Burns and Drew Beam.
