The Tennessee men’s basketball team landed one of the top recruits across the ocean Friday, as NBA Global Academy star Santiago Vescovi gave the Volunteers his verbal commitment according to 247Sports.

Vescovi isn’t coming from across the Atlantic Ocean but the Pacific. He’s originally from Uruguay, but after playing in the NBA Academy in Latin America last year, Vescovi transferred to the Global Academy in Australia.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, the point guard is rated as a 3-star prospect according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the 26th-ranked point guard in the class.

Vescovi bolsters an already loaded 2020 recruiting class for the Volunteers. With Vescovi, Tennessee has four committed prospects in the class, two of which are 5-star recruits, Jaden Springer and Keon Johnson.

Tennessee’s 2020 class is ranked second in the SEC only to Kentucky and fourth in the country based on the composite rankings at 247Sports.
