The hype for the program on Rocky Top continues to grow following the team’s winning SEC record and victory in the Gator Bowl to cap the 2019 season.

That’s what Tennessee fans expected when the program hired away Jeremy Pruitt and this fall could be the first real sign that the Volunteers are back to contending in the SEC East with all the factors that favor the team this fall.

Tennessee’s momentum heading into the upcoming season was recently a talking point for the crew over at FOX Sports — comprised of Joel Klatt, Matt Leinart, Urban Meyer and Reggie Bush — which noted the Vols as a team that could “make some noise” this season.

The return of starting quarterback Jarrett Guarantano, all five offensive linemen and both coordinators were aspects that have the FOX Sports group high on the Vols looking ahead to the upcoming season.

“I’m with you, I think Tennessee could be a team that’s better than we expect,” Joel Klatt says in the video below. “In particular, when you have that many returning starters, I think a big factor is how you finish the previous year. Think about their last five. They win their last five to be bowl eligible and then they win their bowl game.”
