The Tennessee Volunteers and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets played one of the best games of Week 1 on Monday night in Atlanta.

After a thrilling back-and-forth through four quarters, the teams went into double-overtime tied at 35.

Fortunately for coach Butch Jones, the Volunteers have plenty of experience in overtime games.

Tennessee scored to take a 42-35 lead and then watched as the Yellow Jackets marched into the end zone to cut the lead to 42-41.

After a timeout, Tennessee’s defense took over, stuffing Georgia Tech’s two-point conversion attempt to preserve an incredible hard-fought victory:

With that goal-line stand, the Volunteers are 1-0. Despite allowing 655 total yards of offense to the Yellow Jackets, the Vols will leave Atlanta with a win.

At the end of the day, that’s all that matters.
