Tennessee WR Jauan Jennings made a strong move near the goal line to beat DB Steven Montac into the end zone and deliver a second touchdown for the Vols.
Jennings scored on the 6-yard touchdown with 2:11 left in the second quarter to give Tennessee a 14-3 lead at South Carolina. It was his first catch of the game, but his actions in celebration cost the Vols 15 yards.
As Jennings stood up, he laid the ball on Montac’s chest as he went to celebrate with teammates, and the officials flagged him for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Jennings helped QB Jarrett Guarantano have an efficient first half by going 12-for-16 passing for 69 yards and two touchdowns.
The Vols went to halftime with a 14-9 lead over the Gamecocks.
Here are a couple angles of the touchdown and aftermath.
