During his 17 years coaching at Tennessee, Phil Fulmer was often a thorn in the side of rivals Alabama and Georgia.

Naturally, fans of both programs didn’t have the warmest reaction for the Volunteers athletic director when he was recognized as part of this year’s SEC Legends class prior to Saturday’s conference championship game in Atlanta.

Fulmer weathered a wave of boos but smiled and waved through it all, as you can see in the video below tweeted by Michael Casagrande.

Fulmer went 152-52 while coaching Tennessee from 1992-2008, a stint that included a national championship. It also featured plenty of wins against the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs, who are currently engaged in a stressful battle for the conference championship.

Fulmer, though, seems to be enjoying himself so far.
