What Josh Heupel said following Tennessee's ugly loss to Georgia
It’s the same thing with Tennessee football against Georgia.
The Vols started hot, failed to adjust and faltered, giving way to a 38-10 loss for the Vols against the nation’s No. 1 squad.
Josh Heupel was not happy with his team’s performance postgame. He told reporters that a lot of good football has been played by the team in orange in the past, but today was not one of those times.
#Vols coach Josh Heupel: There’s been a lot of good ball played by the Orange in that stadium for a long time. Today, that was not it.

Tennessee has really struggled against teams of consequence this season. The Vols have combined to score just 9 points in the second half against Florida, Mizzou, Alabama and Georgia.
Heupel isn’t used to seeing 7s and 10s on the scoreboard. He said as much postgame:
#Vols coach Josh Heupel on the offense this season; It’s been a long time since we [as a coaching staff] have looked at the scoreboard and it’s been like that. Not what we want.

Heupel also seemed to comment on why Nico Iamaleava did not enter the game. As expected, it’s because the Vols are trying to protect his redshirt as he’s already played in 3 games this season.
#Vols coach Josh Heupel pretty much said Nico Iamaleava didn’t play late in this game because he’s played in three games this season and they’re trying to preserve a redshirt.

Here’s more from Heupel’s postgame press conference:
#Vols coach Josh Heupel: That team we just played is special. What they’re doing, what they’ve done, it’s special. We’ve got a ways to go to.

#Vols coach Josh Heupel: We’re banged up. Really banged up. We were heading into the game and then got more banged up. But this game doesn’t care. We’ve got to play better.
