Some unfortunate news has come out recently at TCU as quarterback Max Duggan revealed he had to undergo surgery to correct a heart issue.

The issue was discovered during COVID-19 testing being done by TCU.

“I appreciate all the support I’ve received this week. Thanks to precautionary COVID-19 testing, I learned about a heart condition that I’ve had since birth,” Duggan shared. “I’ve already had the necessary procedure and am on the road to recovery. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Go Frogs!”

It’s unclear when Duggan may be able to return to the field but it’s interesting that the school’s enhanced testing this season caught the issue. Who knows, it may end up saving the quarterback’s life.

Last fall, Duggan started 10 games for TCU, passing for 2,077 yards and 15 touchdowns along with 555 rushing yards and an addition six scores on the ground.
