Former Georgia WR AD Mitchell has found a connection with Quinn Ewers at Texas, and the two have Alabama up against the ropes Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.

Early in the fourth quarter, it was a connection between Ewers and Mitchell that gave Texas a 20-16 lead. From the 7-yard line, Mitchell beat his man with inside leverage and scored on an easy pitch-and-catch with Ewers.

After the two sides exchanged additional touchdowns, the Longhorns were clinging to a 27-24 lead following a strong drive by Jalen Milroe. Texas had an answer ready, once again going with an Ewers-to-Mitchell connection.

This time, the throw came from 39 yards with Mitchell winning a one-on-one matchup down the field. Ewers’ throw as on the money, but the over-the-shoulder catch was no easy feat.

Mitchell reeled it in for the 34-24 lead with the fourth quarter rolling on:

So far, Mitchell has 3 catches for 78 yards and 2 scores with the Longhorns looking for the knockout blow — and statement upset — in Tuscaloosa.
