Former Texas LB DeMarvion Overshown gets Thanksgiving Day pick-6 off Drew Lock
Former Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown stole the spotlight on Thanksgiving Day with his second-quarter interception.
With the Dallas Cowboys trailing the New York Giants 7-6, Overshown blew up a screen play, tipped a pass from Giants quarterback Drew Lock to himself, and then returned it 23 yards for a go-ahead touchdown. It was Overshown’s first career interception and his first career touchdown.

The former Longhorn was a third-round pick of the Cowboys in the 2023 NFL Draft. He missed his entire rookie season after suffering a torn ACL in the Cowboys’ second preseason game in 2023. But since making his NFL debut, Overshown has quickly blossomed into a key piece in the Dallas defense this season.
Overshown’s play aside, it’s a marquee matchup in name only in Arlington, Texas. The Cowboys entered Thursday’s matchup with a 4-7 record on the season and an 0-5 mark at home. The Giants are 2-9.
Lock, the journeyman from Missouri, is the third starting quarterback in as many games for the Giants. After making the decision to move on from Daniel Jones, New York started Tommy DeVito in a 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs last Sunday. DeVito missed Thursday’s game with a forearm injury.
Dallas is also without its starting quarterback. The offense struggled in the first half, producing only a pair of field goals prior to Overshown’s defensive score and then turning the ball over on downs immediately following Overshown’s interception.
