Greg McElroy lauds Texas’s ‘complete, dominant’ performance in win over Florida
Greg McElroy was impressed with what he saw from the Texas Longhorns in Week 11. The team improved to 8-1 on the season after dismantling Florida, winning 49-17.
It was a much-needed, easy win for the Longhorns, who hadn’t had an impressive victory in almost a month.
“This is the Texas we’ve been waiting for,” said McElroy. “I’m so happy it came to the surface finally. It feels like Texas has kind of been playing with their food a little bit.”
“This is the @TexasFootball we’ve been waiting for ‼️”

The Longhorns started off the season 6-0 before losing to Georgia. The team then beat Vanderbilt by just 7 points. Heading into Week 11 against Florida, the Longhorns needed to get a convincing win to feel good for the stretch run.
“This was a complimentary win, 49-17,” said McElroy. “You score the first 42 points of the game, 3 of those touchdowns come off turnovers forced by the defense. That was a comfortable win from start to finish.”
It was a bounce-back game for Quinn Ewers as well, who threw for 333 yards and 5 TDs. The Longhorns collected 562 total yards of offense and held the Gators scoreless in the 1st half. The Longhorn defense also forced 3 turnovers on the day.
The next test for Texas will be in Week 12 against Arkansas. The Longhorns and Razorbacks will kick off from Razorback Stadium on Saturday at noon ET.
