Jamie Pollard, Iowa State AD, takes shot at Texas: 'Can't leave soon enough'
Jamie Pollard is apparently counting down the days until Texas joins the SEC.
The Iowa State athletic director was asked about the Cyclones’ recent men’s basketball game at Texas being televised on the Longhorn Network.
“Can’t leave soon enough,” Pollard said. “Does that answer your question?”
Here’s video of the response, which was given in an interview on 365Sports:

The Longhorn Network has been a controversial part of the Big 12’s TV package over the years. However, the final score of the Texas-Iowa State game — 72-54 in favor of the Longhorns — is perhaps another reason why Pollard is eager for Texas to leave the Big 12.
Texas and Oklahoma are set to join the SEC prior to the 2024 college football season. That means there’s still one more football and basketball campaign — in addition to the one that’s ongoing — before the Cyclones are free of the Longhorn Network.
Texas and Iowa State will meet one more time in football before parting ways. The teams are scheduled to play each other on Nov. 18 in Ames.
Seems like Iowa State is getting tired of getting blown out by Texas every year
Iowa State is the upset kings of college football over the last 10 – 15 years. They recruit two and three star talent and somehow beat some teams that on paper, are much more talented. They beat Texas three years straight: 2019, 2020, and 2021. The 2022 was decided by 3 points as Iowa State turned the ball very twice, and Texas had no turnovers.
This is why fans of the SEC and presidents,/boards of SEC members were so easy for Texas and Oklahoma to sucker.
Texas has already bought commitments from enough SEC Presidents to get control of the SEC network in my guesstimating, or
they wouldn’t be quitting their stranglehold on the Big 12
After they ruin the SEC, we just have to hope the Big 12 let’s us back in.
I assume the Shorthorn Network goes bye bye in 2024 when they join, correct?
Ha ha, were you born last night. Sure Texas is going to slaughter the goose laying their golden eggs because the SEC is going to hand all their money over to them voluntarily!!!!! What a crack up
you guys are about to find out how Texas is going to work the SEC.
Texas can be a 8-4 team in the SEC and will cause so much havoc. It only gets worse if they are better.
By the time we get to next summer, you will be sick of hearing that they are coming and the parade you are about to see on ESPN will be unbelievable.
You will see, but the SEC would have been better off giving the ACC a $$ deal and taking Clemson, FSU instead. But maybe I am wrong. NOT!
I like the idea of playing them but the refs just love Texas. Look at last years Bama game 15 for Bama to 5 for Texas. They did everything they could to allow Texas to win. That is what you have to look forward to.
We’ll have to see but hey if it takes SEC actually experiencing this to realize what they’ve done, I’m all for it.
Lol, love this statement
The weak minded Aggies strike again. Texas controlled that conference because it was mostly full of small schools located within the boundaries of the dominating state university. Texas could financially and politically push them around.
The SEC is full of very big schools with very large brands. The big swinging d*cks at Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, LSU, etc. are not going to let Texas dictate things or push them around. Those schools aren’t Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Iowa State, etc.
Remember, we invited them after they came crawling to the SEC for help.
just remember my statement about the refs and unless your SEC team is not even close in the game, then you won’t see it but if your team has a real chance of winning in a very close game, you will see phantom calls, Kansas about to knock off #2 Texas 2005, ask Nebraska mostly about special time magically appearing time on several occassions or not clicking off at the start of a play. A&M in the last drive vs Texas a phanton Personal foul when the players bumped on the sideline. Iowa st will tell you how running backs can fumble at the one and Iowa St gets the ball in the endzone and replay booth gives a Touchdown to Texas to win the game.
This you will see and hopefully remember this post and think, HMMMMM.
I’m a Bama fan, so I don’t need to worry too much about that.
Lol
texas controlled selfish texas. Their motto was “Eff the Big 12.”
They chased out 4 teams before bailing themselves. I hope we get to play them every year. Most selfish sports school in the country.
That’s not what former Texas AD DeLoss Dodds just asserted. According to him, the SEC has always wanted Texas as a member, and gaining membership “was always there if we wanted to.”
The shorthorns bs begins……
No one likes Texas. They ruined 2 conferences.
