Tom Herman has collected the No. 10 recruiting class in the country entering the Early Signing Period, and the No. 2 class in the Big 12, according to 247Sports. But for some reason, he decided to drop a double bird on camera during the Longhorn Network’s coverage of the first day recruits can sign with colleges.

It’s unclear if it was a joke, or he wasn’t sure that the camera was on him, but either way, Herman will likely need to explain this action at some point.

It’s been a rocky season for the Longhorns after a disappointing 7-5 season which led to Herman shaking up his staff just after the season.

Among the changes, Herman fired defensive coordinator Todd Orlando and demoted offensive coordinator Tim Beck after the Longhorns began the season ranked in the top 10 but are now unranked, lost three of their last five games, and will next play on Dec. 31 in the Alamo Bowl against Utah.

Herman also dismissed wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Drew Mehringer, and inside receivers coach Corby Meekins was demoted to an administrative role.

Herman recently hired former Rutgers coach Chris Ash as his defensive coordinator. Ash was the defensive co-coordinator at Ohio State in 2014 when the Buckeyes won the national championship and Herman was offensive coordinator.
