Texas is just showing off at this point.

The Longhorns lead Florida 35-0 heading into the halftime break, thanks in part to a pair of scores in the final 2 minutes.

And the catalyst for Texas’s hot start has been Quinn Ewers. The Gators secondary has had no answer for the Longhorns QB, who has enjoyed a clean pocket for most of the afternoon thus far. Ewers is 17/25 for 297 yards and 4 touchdowns, all of which have been connections of at least 20+ yards.

Here’s his final touchdown pass of the half, a 32-yard dime to Matthew Golden:

Ewers has done a good job at spreading the love around evenly to his receivers. A total of 8 Texas receivers have hauled in at least one pass, and 4 players are sitting above 30 receiving yards after the first 30 minutes.

Of all receivers, Golden has had the best day. The above score is Golden’s 2nd touchdown of the afternoon, here’s his first:

It’s hard to find an answer for Florida here apart from a running clock in the second half. As you can tell by the scoreboard, Ewers and Co. are not the only Texas unit on the field simply dominating Billy Napier’s squad.

The Gators have totaled just 138 yards of offense and 64 passing yards. They’ve had limited success on the ground, but it doesn’t help that the Gators have turned the ball over twice since the start of this one.
