Quinn Ewers keeps his cool as Michigan fans try to take advantage of his postgame kindness
Quinn Ewers is riding high right now.
The quarterback has led No. 2 Texas to a 2-0 start with wins over Colorado State and Michigan. Ewers has thrown for 506 yards with 6 touchdowns and just 1 interception to start the season.
Ewers has received praise in the past for his cool demeanor. The QB seemingly stays calm in the most stressful situations, and this cool, calm demeanor was tested AFTER the Week 2 game against Michigan.
While walking off the field in Ann Arbor, Ewers was approached by a young Michigan fan. The kid asked Ewers for a picture, which the QB happily obliged. However, as the dad was ready to take the picture, he could be seen instructing his kid to throw up a “Horns Down” sign.
Good example of Quinn Ewers’ calm demeanor in all situations…
This Michigan fan asks Quinn to take a picture with his son. Obviously he pre-planned for his kid to throw the Horns Down (you can see the dad motion it to his kid) – Quinn says something but doesn’t make a big deal… pic.twitter.com/aPKTHM20Bc

As soon as Ewers sees this, he can be seen saying something to the pair and walking away with a smile on his face.
Ewers would have been within his rights to be annoyed by this maneuver and be angry. Instead, the QB handled the incident with grace and moved on.
This is a good look for Ewers and a horrible look for the dad. Athletes are not obligated to stop and take pictures, so don’t take advantage of their kindness, folks.
Seems a silly move considering the score.
I am, personally, a huge fan of the ‘horns down’… but this is a completely classless move by the dad – made even worse by using his kid as bait.
Evers just played a D-I ballgame and he’s giving you some of his time completely out of kindness. Something tells me the dad never strapped up.
Huge respect for Ewers for the way he handled it.
Not a good look for the dad. Total disrespect. It’s a shame that good sportsmanship has taken a back seat to taunting and self aggrandizement nowadays.
I’m not a huge Texas fan but Ewers apparently handled the situation admirably.
Douche of a dad.
As an Aggie fan, I think Ewers handled this well. Colt McCoy was another Longhorn QB who was a class act.
Yankees. A
Yankees. Any questions?
Classy from Ewers. Much respect to the guy.
The Horns down is so overplayed. It doesn’t mean much.
Ewers handled it like a true pro with class and humility. The dad deserves some public shame.
Well done Ewers.
