Quinn Ewers reportedly mulling return to Texas for 2024 season
Quinn Ewers is reportedly considering a return to Texas for the 2024 season.
Inside Texas’ Bobby Burton reported on Tuesday morning that there’s a “90 precent” chance Ewers opts for another season in Austin rather than the 2024 NFL Draft.
Ewers is finishing up his third season of college football and his second with the Longhorns. Ewers re-classified late in the 2021 recruiting cycle so he’s still relatively young for a potential NFL Draft entrant.
After Inside Texas’ report was shared, ESPN’s Pete Thamel added some intel of his own. Thamel reports that a decision has not been made yet, but did confirm there’s been “early conversations about a potential return to Texas.”
Sources: Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has yet to decide on whether to declare for the NFL Draft. There’s been early conversations about a potential return to Texas, but “there’s a long way to go.”

Ewers has battled injuries this season, but returned last week in Texas’ win over TCU. So far this season, Ewers has thrown for 2,232 yards, 14 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
Another season in college could help Ewers boost his NFL Draft stock. As of now, he’s widely considered to be outside of the top group of quarterbacks (Caleb Williams and Drake Maye) for the 2024 draft. It’s possible another season in college could push Ewers into the upper-echelon of passers for the 2025 draft.
Texas will play at Iowa State in Week 12.
