Quinn Ewers reportedly had a lucrative offer to continue his college football career another season at a new school.

Ewers declared for the 2025 NFL Draft on Wednesday. He had the option to play college football in 2025 because he redshirted at Ohio State in 2021 before playing 3 seasons at Texas. One team’s NIL providers really wanted Ewers to return in 2025 and hop back in the transfer portal.

According to Texas insider Chip Brown of Horns247, Ewers turned down an $8 million NIL offer from another team. Brown cites a source close to Ewers.

Thursday’s report is not the first to link Ewers to a multi-million transfer offer. On Dec. 31, On3 reported that Ewers had a $6 million offer to enter the transfer portal and play elsewhere in 2025. It’s unclear if the $8 million offer is an increase of the previously reported $6 million offer, or a new offer entirely, as the 247Sports article does not mention On3’s report.

The reported offer for Ewers comes as fellow former SEC quarterback Carson Beck is set to make $4 million in NIL deals at Miami in 2025. After 5 seasons at Georgia, Beck initially entered the NFL Draft but decided instead to use his final year of eligibility and enter the transfer portal.
