Quinn Ewers update: CFB insider shares Texas QB's targeted return date
Quinn Ewers has been sidelined since his Week 2 exit from the Texas-Alabama game. The Longhorns starting quarterback has returned to the travel roster, but is yet to get back on the field.
On Saturday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel shared an update on Ewers during “College GameDay.” Thamel shared that Ewers won’t be playing Saturday when Texas faces West Virginia. The hope is that Ewers returns to practice soon and returns for the rivalry clash with No. 18 Oklahoma in Week 6.

Without Ewers, Texas fell to Alabama 20-19 in a heartbreaker. The following week, the Longhorns rebounded to defeat UTSA 41-20 with Hudson Card at quarterback. In Week 4, Card and company fell to Texas Tech 37-34 in overtime.
Ewers, a former 5-star recruit, transferred from Ohio State to Texas after the 2021 season to play for Steve Sarkisian’s squad. This season, Ewers is 23-of-36 passing for 359 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception.
