Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns took a sledgehammer to Florida Saturday afternoon, scoring a 49-17 win to improve to 8-1 on the year.

It was never close, and Quinn Ewers and Co. had a field day with a few exceptional play designs, including an end around to Isaiah Bond for a big play in the first quarter:

We bring up that play because after the game, Sarkisian highlighted the importance of blocking towards the success of these types of play calls. Here’s what he had to say:

Texas’s O-line was incredibly impressive Saturday afternoon in Austin. The Longhorns finished with 210 rushing yards on 31 carries (and average of 6.8 yards per rush) and well over 550 yards of total offense. Perhaps more important – Quinn Ewers had a fantastic pocket all game long. He nearly had 300 passing yards by halftime and was sacked just once.

The Longhorns are back in action next weekend against Arkansas in Fayetteville, where the Razorbacks have already knocked off a current top 10 team.
