Texas football added a massive pledge out of the state of Georgia Saturday afternoon just before their kickoff against Kentucky.
Joseph Mbatchou, who hails from Loganville, Georgia, committed to the Longhorns over the likes of USC, Auburn and Michigan. At one point Mbatchou was committed to Florida – though he decommitted in October of this year.
Mbatchou is originally from Cameroon and also plays basketball.

Mbatchou stands at 6-4, 275 pounds and is considered to be the No. 291 overall prospect in the Class of 2025, as well as the No. 31 DL and No. 42 player out of the state of Georgia.
This stands as Texas’s 24th commitment of the 2024 cycle, which currently ranks No. 4 in the country and No. 3 in the SEC behind Georgia and Alabama. Of those commitments, 5 are defensive linemen, all of whom are 4-stars: Mbatchou, Myron Charles, Lance Jackson, Smith Orogbo and Josiah Sharma.
Texas is doing everything right at the moment. The Longhorns have lost just once this season, waiting patiently for a Week 13 matchup against Kentucky. After that they’ll travel to College Station to take on Texas A&M in a game that could decide a Playoff spot.
