Texas landed another significant win on the recruiting trail Tuesday, picking up a late addition to the 2023 recruiting class. This time, the Longhorns also flipped a player away from a pledge to TCU.

The player is Warren Roberson, a 4-star safety out of Red Oak High School in Red Oak, Texas. Roberson committed to TCU in October but Steve Sarkisian’s Texas program made a late push after the first of the year.

Here’s when Roberson made the move official with full theatrics involved in the decision:

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Roberson is listed at 6-feet and 180 pounds and is the No. 22 safety prospect in the country. Roberson is also rated as the 47th overall player out of Texas for the cycle.

Roberson joins a 2023 recruiting class for the Longhorns that is ranked No. 3 nationally by the 247 Sports Team Composite Rankings. He is the 18th prospect in the class rated as a 4-star prospect or better.
