Texas just landed a major pickup for its 2026 recruiting class.
Dia Bell, a prized quarterback prospect out of South Florida, has committed to play for Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorns. Bell took to social media on Monday to share the big news.
Thank u to everyone who offered me a chance 2 pursue my dreams at ur school. I am grateful for all of u and the relationships we built! These ’s were from 2 years ago to the day. It was always the plan! @TexasFootball time to build the best 2026 class in the country! #HookEm pic.twitter.com/1LLqju4bkf

Out of the prominent Plantation (Florida) American Heritage High School, Bell is currently listed as measuring 6-2 and 195 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Bell is rated 5-stars, the No. 1 player in the state of Florida, No. 2 quarterback and No. 10 prospect overall in the 2026 recruiting class. He’s the son of former NBA player Raja Bell.

While the 2026 recruiting class still has two more seasons of high school ball ahead, Bell has scholarship offers from 38 programs. Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee.
While early in the 2026 recruiting cycle, getting Bell on board is still a big deal for Texas. Other teams will likely try to flip Bell, but it should be evident early on if Bell is truly locked in with the Longhorns.
Quarterback prospects tend to be an extension of the coaching staff as recruiters. QBs are vocal about attracting the receivers and linemen they want on their supporting cast.
Even defensive players take notice of where the 5-star prospects are going. Talent attracts talent, regardless of position.
Bell is the second commitment in Texas’ 2026 recruiting class. He joins Raycine Guillory, a 3-star ATH out of Aledo (Texas) who pledged to Sark’s staff back on Jan. 20.
