Texas Tech coaching search: Big-name Big 12 coordinator interviews for Red Raiders job, per report

Texas Tech is looking for a new head coach after parting ways with Matt Wells earlier this year.
The Red Raiders are in the process of interviewing potential candidates, and a current big-name Big 12 defensive coordinator reportedly interviewed for the job this week.
Per college football insider Bruce Feldman, Oklahoma DC Alex Grinch interviewed with the Red Raiders on Friday as the Sooners are off this weekend:
Keep an eye on OU DC Alex Grinch for Texas Tech. Sources tell me he interviewed yesterday with Tech (OU is on a bye week).. Grinch, well-regarded in coaching circles, has turned down chances at P5 head coaching jobs before. This one might be an ideal fit. https://t.co/k7R6LYV4Wk

Grinch has had his name brought up for coaching positions before. He’s also reportedly in the mix at Washington State.
Will this be the year he leaves Norman to take over his own program? We’ll see how the current coaching searches go.
