Earlier this summer, Under Armour announced it was ending its partnership with UCLA athletics. That decision, understandably, did not sit well with UCLA.
Now, the Bruins are taking things to court. Yahoo’s Pete Thamel reports that UCLA has filed a massive lawsuit against the sports apparel company.
Per court documents, the breach-of-contract lawsuit is for a whopping $200 million:
Breaking: UCLA is suing Under Armour for breach of contract, filed today in District Court in California. "The amount in controversy exceeds $200,000,000," the document reads. UA announced in June it was ending their partnership with UCLA. @YahooSports pic.twitter.com/vlJOv7K3Bm

UCLA alleges that Under Armour is trying to use the COVID-19 pandemic to get out of the 15-year, $280 million contract signed in 2016.
Obviously, UCLA wants the money it was promised. Meanwhile, Under Armour will likely try to argue that UCLA isn’t providing as much value. We’ll see how things play out if this case reaches trial.
