Kirk Herbstreit blasted Southern Cal QB Caleb Williams on Monday morning during College GameDay on ESPN, as he called into question the Heisman Trophy winner’s painted fingernails, which during the Pac-12 Championship Game spelled out “F— Utah.”
“That represents Lincoln Riley too, they need to clean that shit up,” Herbstreit said.
The sophomore QB is responsible for 47 touchdowns (37 passing, 10 rushing), which is the most in the FBS this season and in USC history. Williams is also one of 2 FBS players in the past 5 seasons with at least 4,000 total yards and 5 or fewer turnovers.
Williams previously did it for opponents throughout the season, and has said it’s a tribute to his mom, who he’s said has done nails most of her life.
Williams, however, didn’t paint the nails for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
For those wondering, Caleb Williams won’t be sporting any nail art for the Heisman ceremony this weekend. Just glossy nails for New York.
“I’m gonna be in a lot of suits, so I went plain,” Williams said.
