The Commodores continue to rack up commitments in the 2021 recruiting cycle as Derek Mason’s Vanderbilt program just reached into the state of Ohio and landed a commitment from talented Akron athlete A.J. Campbell.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Campbell announced the news of his commitment to the Commodores on Thursday evening.

The Akron native is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 85 weakside defensive end in the 2021 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The rising senior for Copley High School, Campbell committed to Vanderbilt over scholarship offers from Air Force, Army, FIU and Kent State, among others.
