Derek Mason made a solid hire this offseason by bringing in SEC and NFL veteran Aaron Moorehead to Nashville. But you don’t have to take our word for it, just check out what one of the best receivers in recent SEC history had to say about the Commodores’ new position coach.

Under Moorehead’s guidance, Christian Kirk put up some gaudy numbers in College Station. In only three seasons of play, Kirk caught 234 passes for 2,856 yards and a whopping 23 touchdowns.

Following the official hiring of Moorehead, Vanderbilt sent out this tweet about the coach:

Kirk then responded with some words of advice for the returning Vanderbilt receiving corp:

There likely isn’t anyone better to ask about Moorehead and what he can help teach to a receiver than Kirk. If the Vanderbilt receivers are smart, they’ll soak up these comments and prepare to head into the start of spring football in Nashville in the coming weeks.
