Clark Lea reportedly hires new offensive coordinator
Clark Lea has reportedly found a new offensive coordinator for his Vanderbilt Commodores.
Previous offensive coordinator Joey Lynch was fired after the conclusion of the Commodores’ 2023 season. The team struggled on offense in 2023, finishing with the No. 114 total offense.
On Saturday, it was reported that Lea has hired Tim Beck from New Mexico State to be his new OC.
Sources: Vanderbilt is expected to hire New Mexico State OC Tim Beck as the school’s new offensive coordinator. Beck spent a majority of his career at Division II Pittsburg State, including 10 years as head coach. (This is a different Tim Beck than the Coastal Carolina HC).

Beck had been the OC and quarterbacks coach for the Aggies since 2022. Beck oversaw an Aggie offense that took a giant leap in 2023, finishing with the No. 32 total offense in the nation. The Aggies finished the season with a 10-5 record after going 7-6 in 2022.
The veteran coach also helped Aggie QB Diego Pavia have an incredible season. Pavia ended with 2,915 passing yards with 26 TDs and 8 INTs. Pavia also ran for 856 yards and 6 rushing TDs.
Beck will try to transform a Vanderbilt offense that has mightily struggled recently. The Dores went 0-8 in SEC play in 2023 and 2-10 overall.
