Clark Lea expects to have RB Rocko Griffin on the field for Vanderbilt this week against South Carolina as the Commodores travel to Columbia.

Lea said at his Tuesday press conference that he thinks Griffin will be able to play at South Carolina on Saturday but that Griffin will need to avoid setbacks throughout the week. He’s recovering from an ankle injury. Griffin rushed for 12 yards on 9 carries last week in the loss to Florida.

“At this juncture, it appears he’ll be available and I expect him to be able to practice this week,” Lea said, per 247Sports. “But like anything, we have to continue to track how he’s responding. He has got to have a healthy week in practice. I saw Rocko this morning. He was in good spirits and I think he’s trending the right way. So we’ll be excited to have him out there with us on Saturday.”

Griffin has 64 carries for 227 yards and a touchdown this season.
