Three reserve players for Vanderbilt have decided to end their playing careers at the university as linebacker Landon Stokes, and tight ends Sean Dowling and DeAndre Woods are no longer members of the football program. All three have already graduated from Vanderbilt.

Commodore head coach Derek Mason confirmed the news Monday, according to Adam Sparks of the Tennesseean.

“(They) are graduating and moving forward,” Mason said. “These guys were terrific representatives.”

Each of the players made a minimal impact on the field in 2016. Stokes registered 15 tackles in 12 games, Dowling had one catch for six yards and Woods did not register any statistics. While Stokes failed to put up big numbers, he was the most experienced member of the group, playing in 35 games and making 14 career starts.

Vanderbilt opens spring football next Monday, Feb. 27.
