Former Vanderbilt QB Kyle Shurmur didn’t get selected during the 2019 NFL Draft, and it took him awhile to land a contract.

Now, though, he has an undrafted free agent deal, and he’ll get his chance to land a roster spot with an NFL squad.

Per a release from the Kansas City Chiefs, the team has signed Shurmur to a free agent deal and he’ll play at rookie minicamp.

Shurmur won’t be the only Vandy player on the roster, as the Chiefs also signed OL Bruno Reagan to a contract.

Will Shurmur back up Patrick Mahomes, the reigning MVP, this year? We’ll see what happens over the course of the spring and summer.
