Vanderbilt lands its first 4-star commitment since 2018 as Maryland defensive tackle pledges to Derek Mason's program
Vanderbilt received some good news from the recruiting trail on Friday as it gained the commitment of one of the top defensive tackles in the country.
Marcus Bradley, a senior from Gaithersburg, Md., announced his pledge to the Commodores on his Twitter account.
He becomes the 19th player to commit to the program in the class of 2021.
According to 247Sports, the 6-foot-3, 250-pound Bradley is the No. 14 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 8 player in the state of Maryland regardless of position. He is the sole 4-star recruit in the class thus far and its first since 2018, when the program landed linebacker Alston Orgi.
As a junior, Bradley recorded 41 tackles, along with 5.0 tackles for a loss.

Of course, he will de-commit if Mason is fired. Most of Vandy’s 4-star recruits, including the one closest to being given 5-stars, have been huge underachievers.
Unless this is mainly about the degree, this is a poor decision. He won’t get as good of coaching as many other offers and he surely will never be a champion. He will play against great competition though, and he should play early. I guess that’s something.
You don’t think Derek Mason will give him as good of coaching as Bo Poleni would? Thats cute
Mason is the HC. He isn’t giving one on one training to a DT. He also hasn’t produced a decent defense in forever. I didn’t mention LSU at all. Nice try though sparky.
