The Vanderbilt Commodores have been hit hard by opt-outs and transfers this offseason, and that bad news continued on Wednesday.

The latest departure comes via the NCAA transfer portal, where a sophomore running back is apparently leaving the program.

Per AL.com’s Matt Zenitz, JR Tran-Reno has entered the portal and will explore his transfer options moving forward:

Tran-Reno was a 3-star athlete in the 2019 recruiting class. He was the No. 149 athlete in the class of 2019 and the No. 64 overall recruit from the state of Alabama, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

He did not see any action as a freshman in 2019. We’ll see where he ends up moving forward.
