Vanderbilt landed its 13th commitment Friday evening in Miami, Florida, native Diego LaMonica.

The 6-foot-4, 226-pound playmaking TE rated a 3-star prospect and ranks as the nation’s No. 26 overall TE and the Sunshine State’s No. 103 overall prospect for the class of 2020, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He chose Vandy over offers from South Carolina, Georgia Tech and UCF, among others.

LaMonica became the Dores fourth commitment from the state of Florida this recruiting cycle. Anytime the Commodores can go into the Miami-area and land a prospect it’s a huge deal.

The TE shared his commitment via Twitter: “I’d like to give thanks to my family, friends, coaches and teammates who’ve helped me through this process, especially my mom, dad and grandma. This journey truly has been amazing. Having said that, I am truly honored and blessed to say I have committed to Vanderbilt University.”
