The Vanderbilt Commodores have added a game to their 2021 nonconference schedule, per news that broke on Wednesday.

According to a release from UConn, the independent Huskies will travel to Nashville on Oct. 2, 2021, to take on the Commodores.

That’s an interesting development, as FBSchedules.com had Vanderbilt scheduled to host Houston on that date. It seems the Huskies will replace the Cougars on Vandy’s 2021 schedule.

In the all-time series, Vanderbilt is 2-1 against UConn, winning in 2002 and 2011 in Nashville and losing at UConn in 2010.

Vandy’s 2021 nonconference slate now includes UConn, Stanford, Colorado State and ETSU.

The 2020 campaign will be UConn’s first as an independent football school.
