Vanderbilt announced the addition of 3 incoming transfers on Tuesday morning.

All 3 transfers play on the defensive side of the ball. The additions are former Stanford pass rushers Aeneas DiCosmo and Jacob Katona and ex-Michigan State linebacker Carson Casteel.

DiCosmo spent the last 4 years at Stanford. He’s coming off of his best year with the Cardinal in 2022 as he racked up 26 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Casteel was a 3-star prospect out of Alabama in the class of 2021. He did not record any statistics during his 2 seasons at Michigan State, but did play in 8 games for the Spartans in 2022.

Katona is also an Alabama native from the class of 2021. He did not record any statistics during his time with the Cardinal.

According to Vanderbilt’s release, all 3 players will be present for spring practice. The Commodores also have 3 early enrollees who will be practicing with the team this spring: running back Sedrick Alexander, linebacker Ethan Crisp and linebacker Jailen Ruth.

Vanderbilt finished the 2022 season with a 5-7 record, its best mark since 2018.
