The Vanderbilt Commodores came to play on Saturday. The Commodores were huge underdogs to the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs. However, the Dores opened the scoring 7-0 lead, and then got a strip-sack fumble against Georgia QB Carson Beck.

The Dores recovered the fumble and gained possession of the ball in Georgia territory. Aeneas DiCosmo caused the fumble and Marlen Sewell recovered it.

This was DiCosmo’s 2nd sack of the season and 1st forced fumble.

Unfortunately for them, the Dores did not capitalize. The Dores’ offense sputtered and Jacob Borcila missed a 47-yard field goal attempt as it fell short.

The Bulldogs got the ball back and drove down the field and scored a TD to tie the game at 7 in the 1st quarter.

The Bulldogs have had their way with the Dores of late. Vanderbilt has not defeated Georgia since the 2016 season. Over the last 2 matchups, the Bulldogs have outscored the Dores by a score of 117-0.

Georgia then took its first lead early in the 2nd quarter when Kendall Milton ran it in from 3 yards out to cap a 7-play, 77-yard drive.
