Vanderbilt drains buzzer beater for upset win over Texas A&M, second SEC victory
Vanderbilt picked up its second SEC win of the season in thrilling fashion.
The Commodores took down Texas A&M on Tuesday night in Nashville. Vanderbilt trailed 73-72 in the final seconds before Ezra Manjon made a difficult jumper falling down.

While Manjon provided the heroics, Ven-Allen Lubin was the game’s leading scorer. Lubin recorded 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the floor, with one 3-pointer and 6 free throws. Manjon had 19 points, going 7-of-16 on field-goal attempts with one triple and 4 free throws.

As the final score indicates, the Aggies and Commodores played a tight game. Texas A&M posted a better shooting percentage (51% to 44%), but the Commodores got off more shots (59-47) resulting in two more makes (26-24).
The Aggies committed 12 turnovers to Vanderbilt’s 5. Texas A&M grabbed more rebounds (30-27), but Vanderbilt had more points in the paint (28-18).
Before the loss, Texas A&M was rated a No. 7-seed at No. 28 overall by ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi. The Aggies are now 15-9 overall, with a 6-5 record in SEC play. Buzz Williams’ team travels to No. 15 Alabama on Saturday.
Jerry Stackhouse’s Commodores are 7-17 on the year with the win. Vanderbilt is now 2-9 in conference contests, with a trip to No. 8 Tennessee up next.
