Vanderbilt was shut out in the last 2 games against Georgia, and the Commodores hadn’t scored a touchdown against the Bulldogs in 5 years.

That all ended in one play early on Saturday as the Commodores opened the scoring with a big passing play as Georgia’s defenders were split deep. London Humphreys, who already leads SEC freshmen in receiving yards, split Tykee Smith and Kamari Lassiter and scored on a 49-yard touchdown pass from Ken Seals. It was the first touchdown pass against Georgia for Vanderbilt since 2018, when the starting quarterbacks in that game were Jake Fromm and Kyle Shurmur.

Seals began the game 4-for-4 passing for 76 yards, as Vanderbilt went 5 plays and 75 yards to get on the board with 12:07 left in the first quarter.

Humphreys came into this week with 12 catches on the season for 299 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Georgia has won 5 straight against Vanderbilt, including the last 2 that were 55-0 and 62-0.
