Vanderbilt lands commitment from former Oregon DT Rutger Reitmaier
DT Rutger Reitmaier was a big part of the Oregon Ducks’ 2017 recruiting class, checking in as the team’s No. 6 overall recruit.
However, he hasn’t played a down for Oregon this year and made it clear back in July that he wanted to transfer.
A long and difficult transfer process followed, but on Wednesday, Reitmaier announced that he was committing to Vanderbilt:

Reitmaier, a 6-3, 270-pound defender, is a Nashville native and will be a welcome addition to coach Derek Mason’s 2018 class.
According to the 247Sports composite, Reitmaier was the No. 23 defensive tackle in the 2017 class and the No. 11 overall recruit from the state of Tennessee.
In addition to Vanderbilt, Reitmaier had also requested permission to speak with Tennessee, Michigan and Duke before settling on the Commodores, per 247Sports.
