The Vanderbilt Commodores needed a boost in the 2019 recruiting class, and they got one on Saturday evening.

Derek Mason and his staff dipped into the JUCO ranks to land the newest addition to their 2019 class — 3-star DT Brandon Maddox.

As you can see in the tweet below, Maddox — who currently plays for Pima Community College — announced that he was committing to Vanderbilt:

Per 247Sports, Maddox is the No. 19 JUCO defensive tackle in the class of 2019 and the No. 18 overall JUCO player from the state of Arizona.

Prior to Maddox’s commitment, Vanderbilt had 19 players in its 2019 class, which ranked No. 51 nationally and No. 14 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
