Cecil is taking advantage of the NCAA waiver for 2020’s COVID-impacted season to play an extra year of college football. He began at Cal Poly in 2017. After redshirting his first year on campus, Cecil played in 36 games, making 31 starts, over the next 4 seasons (2018-21). The Mustangs’ 2020 season was limited to just 3 games played in the spring of 2021.
In his career, Cecil has recorded 126 tackles, including 5.5 sacks. Last season, he posted career-highs of 43 tackles and 2 sacks.
