Vanderbilt will reportedly be down another player for its final two games of the 2020 season. Matt Zenitz of AL.com reports that Commodores linebacker Kenny Hebert has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

While Hebert has not been a major contributor, it does cost Vanderbilt another player when the Commodores have had issues with roster availability.

Hebert, who has one season of eligibility remaining, had seen his role reduced. In 2019, Hebert played 11 games, starting seven, recording 34 tackles, including 7 TFL and 2 sacks. In 2020, he played in just seven games, recording 4 tackles.

Entering the transfer portal does not bound a player from leaving the school. Some players withdraw from the portal and choose to return to the team. We’ll see if the next Vanderbilt head coach reaches out to the senior from New Orleans about returning the team for 2021.
