Vanderbilt’s Jack Leiter follows up no-hitter with 7 more hitless innings against Mizzou
Vanderbilt standout Jack Leiter continues to be unhittable.
After his 16-strikeout, 9-inning no-hitter last weekend, the Commodore hurler followed it up Friday night with 7 more hitless innings in VU’s 11-3 win over Mizzou. He was at 101 pitches when he exited the game with Vanderbilt leading 11-0.
Leiter still found issue with his outing:
Jack Leiter said his velocity wasn’t as good in his 7-inning no-hitter as his 9-inning no-hitter.
Well, no one’s perfect.

Leiter now has 16.2 consecutive innings without a hit, going back to the fifth inning of a March 13 contest against Oklahoma State. His ERA is at 0.25, having allowed just 1 earned run in 36 innings pitched. His line in SEC play is 16IP with 26Ks, no hits, no runs allowed.
