Although most programs have turned their focus to the 2018 and 2019 classes, Vanderbilt had some unfinished business to take care of with the 2017 crop.

On Sunday evening, 2017 JUCO prospect Saige Young announced his commitment to Derek Mason and the Vandy program:

The 3-star prospect chose Vanderbilt over offers from FAU, Houston, and Iowa State, among others. Young brings considerable size (6-foot-4, 320 pounds) to the table. He projects to be a guard in Nashville.

Originally a 2016 recruit, the Kentucky native spent this past year at Dodge City Community College in Kansas. He took an official visit to Vanderbilt this past weekend, and decided it was where Young wanted to play his college ball.

He became the 20th member of the Commodores’ 2017 class.
