Zach Cunningham knew what he had to do. He just didn’t know if he was allowed to do it.

After getting confirmation from coaches that he was allowed to jump over Auburn’s long snapper, Vanderbilt’s junior linebacker did just that to block a critical field goal late in last Saturday’s game. The insanely athletic play kept the upset bid alive for the Commodores, who ultimately lost 23-16.

Cunningham explained the play to AL.com, saying he noticed a certain field-goal cadence on film and during the game. With that knowledge, he was able to perfectly time his hurdle and legally jump over the long snapper for a highlight-reel moment.
