According to Twitter, Alabama officially has a new defensive line coach
News of Karl Dunbar becoming the next defensive line coach at Alabama has been out there for over a week without the school making an official announcement. While the Crimson Tide has still yet to make any official announcements, Dunbar’s new Twitter account: @UACoachDunbar seems to have announced the hiring.
Dunbar’s first tweet from the account:
Blessed to be part of The Process #RollTide https://t.co/GPGDUhV7v2
— Karl Dunbar (@UACoachDunbar) May 9, 2016
The profile of the Twitter account reads: “Defensive Line Coach at The University of Alabama”
Dunbar previously worked as a strength coach for Nick Saban at LSU from 2000-01 and more recently as a defensive line coach in the NFL for the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.
Dunbar’s NFL experience lead him to coaching several of the game’s best interior defenders including: Tommie Harris, Tank Johnson, Kevin Williams, Pat Williams, Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Kyle Williams.
In case you wondering, according to one ‘Bama writer, the Twitter account is not a fake:
.@UACoachDunbar is not a fake account. #Alabama has its new DL coach. Long time NFL coach already in his office in Tuscaloosa. @TideSports

Dunbar is of course replacing Bo Davis who promptly resigned after allegedly breaking a recruiting rule and being dishonest about it with the NCAA.
